Birch Box

I LOVE getting things in the mail. It is one of my favorite things. Sadly, I rarely get anything cool in the mail and so I hate checking the mail when I know it just has bills or useless adds. Lucky for me I found out about Birchboxes. Birchbox is a sweet little gift that comes in the mail each month and it is full of my favorite things, PRODUCT SAMPLES! Seriously, how awesome is that? Each month has a special theme and it is always a surprise what will be coming next. 

For the month of July Birchbox teamed up with Glamour and it was all about the senses. There were things to see, hear, taste, touch and smell. Here are the details of this months products.

Ada Cosmetics | Bronzer: I only tested this bronzer on my hand but it had some good color to it. I am a bronzer freak since I am so pale so if I find I like it I just might invest. I will make sure to get back to you on this one. 

Alterna | Bamboo UV+ Color Protection Fade-Proof Fluide: This smelled SUPER good and I like things that smell good. I am all for color protection on the hair and if I were to use it long term then I could really tell if it was worth investing. For not I just use my sample.

Jouer | Lip Enhancer: This went on like butter on my lips. It smelled fresh and made my lips feel super soft. Now I just need someone to kiss and test it on ;)

Stila | In the moment shadow palette: I am also an eye shadow freak. I love color and all kinds of eye shadows. This came with not one but two cards which included a how to and two color scheme options. AWESOME. I have not tried this palette yet but the colors are gorg and I think I will save it for a date night. If you know a single gent let me know and then I can try it! Jk. Maybe.

Suki | Nourishing Kit: Have not tried this yet but I am in search of a new skin system to insure that my skin stays young and healthy. I'll let you know what I think.

Larabar | Uber: Haven't gotten the guts to eat this bar yet. I am kind of picky when it comes to taste and I will just have to buck up and taste the darn thing. Too bad I just brushed my teeth.

Birchbox Exclusive | Earbuds: I don't think anything can compare to my Apple headphones, honestly. I LOVE my headphones and these ones were just up my ally in color (they are blue and pink) but I just wasn't feeling the shape of the buds and the sound that was coming out. BUT they were a nice touch to box.

Finally, I am getting around to writing my first post for this blog. I have put a lot of thought in to what I wanted to write about and though my thought process isn’t totally done I decided to just start typing and see what I come up with. Mostly, I wanted to open this blog with a post simply encouraging you to be who you are and love yourself. And like with most things I have a quote for this: 

"You are not your bra-size, nor are you the width of your waist, nor are you the slenderness of your calves. You are not your hair color, your skin color, nor are you a shade of lipstick. Your shoe-size is of no consequence. You are not defined by the amount of attention you get from males, females, or any combination thereof. You are not the sit-ups you can do, nor are you the number of calories in a day. You are not your mustache. You are not the hair on your legs, You are not a little red dress. You are no amalgam of these things. 

You are the content of your character. You are the ambitions that drive you. You are the goals that you set. You are the things you laugh at and the words you say. You are the thoughts you think and the things you wonder. You are beautiful and desirable not for the clique you attend, but for the spakr of life within you that compels you to make your life a full and meaningful one. This quote says it all. You truly are beautiful for who you are and feeling beautiful about yourself truly starts with being the best you that you can be. It took me a very long time to understand that and I still am not perfect at it. I hope that you are kind to yourself and remember that it isn't the superficial things that make us who we are it is how we think and how we act that will make us truly beautiful.

Any post that I will write after this won’t be to diminish my belief that inner beauty is the most beautiful kind. Simply, I want to help you feel comfortable on the outside and give you knowledge to look your very best. After I learned how to do my hair, my makeup, and take care of myself I felt more confident and it allowed me to be strengthened. I wish the same for you!
